Contractors are hard at work this summer repaving 14 miles of roads in Bristol Township.
Crews from General Asphalt Paving Company recently finished repaving several roads in the Edgely section of the township and will continue with more roads as the summer progresses. The work is part of a multi-year effort to rework roads in township, some of which have not been repaved in decades.

The township has a complete list of roads to be paved this year on their website.
The township voted in spring to spend $1.8 million this year to upgrade its roads. Since 2012, more than $14 million has been spent to pave roads in the township.
Council President Craig Bowen said in a statement that the repaving of more than 100 miles of roads since the program started in 2012 demonstrated the council’s ongoing “commitment and priority to repair dilapidated roads and rebuild Bristol Township’s infrastructure.”

“Earlier this year, we celebrated a momentous accomplishment by not only meeting our goal of paving 88 miles of roadways within five years, but in fact, far exceeding that goal by paving 102 miles of township highways in four years without raising taxes,” Bowen said.
In total, 63 roads are expected to be paved in Bristol Township by the end of the summer. Due to the ongoing work at the new elementary schools, Mill Creek and Haines roads are not on the list to be resurfaced this year.
