Bristol Twp. Hires Contractor For 2016 Road Resurfacing Project

Bristol Township Council has approved a contractor for their 2016 road resurfacing project.

As their last council meeting, Philadelphia-based General Asphalt Paving Company was hired to pave 14 miles of township roadway in 2016. The low bid will cost the taxpayers $1.8 million.

A list of roads to be paved and a schedule has not yet been released.

Township engineer Kurt Schroeder said Mill Creek and Haines roads are not on the list to be resurfaced this year due to the construction of the new schools.

Residents will be notified of curb replacements and the schedules of when they will be worked on, Schroeder said.

The work comes as part of a larger road upgrade program that the Bristol Township Council undertook in 2012. Since then, more than $14 million has been spent to pave roughly 100 miles of township roads.
