Flames shot through the roof of 220 Louise Drive early Thursday morning as firefighters arrived shortly after 3:35 a.m. Crews from several Levittown-area volunteer fire companies immediately went to work battling the blaze at the large home in the Morrisville section of the township.
Falls Fire Company Chief Mike McClellan said the fire was so intense that it melted the siding off the shed and on nearby houses. In addition, a live power line fell once firefighters arrived and an active gas line caused problems until service was cut.
No injuries to the residents were reported, according to Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito. McClellan said a firefighter was treated at the scene for a minor injury.

Images from the scene show the home was heavily damaged by the overnight fire.
“Everyone there did a phenomenal job,” McClellan said. He added that the scale of the fire, size of the home and humid weather made the blaze challenging to fight.

Video from LevittownNow.com reader PJ Kennedy shows the orange glow of the flames from down the street.
Dippolito said he was at the scene and still continuing to investigate the cause.
