The annual Levittownย Memorial Day Parade brought hundreds, possibly more than a thousand, people out to line New Falls Road and the roads of Fallsingtonย in honor of the Memorial Day holiday.

The warm weatherย was not able to keep families eager for the parade away. Al and Deb Vittitow returned from vacation Saturday, and once they realized there was a parade going on, they hadย to stop by to take in the sights and sounds.

Usually hitting at least one of the parades on New Falls Roadย every year, the Vittitows did not seem to mind the afternoon heat.

“It’s good for the military, it’s good for the community. People seem to forget what the holiday is really about,” the Vittitows said.

A little further down the route Joan Anderson, her daughter Nancy Burnell and Nancy’s daughter Elizabeth took in the parade.

Anderson has been coming every year. Nancy has brought Elizabeth since she was a little kid. For them, the parade is a family tradition.

“I think it is very energetic and exciting,” young Elizabeth chimed in.
