Bristol Township police said they arrested a man last week after he allegedly led them on a chase.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Angel Aponte, 32, of Bristol Township’s Croydon section, blew through a red light on Durham Road turning right onto Veterans Highway last Wednesday morning. When police officers tried to pull him over, Aponte began fleeing.

Officers followed Aponte as he made his way to Ford Road, where he increased his speed to 50 mph, according to police. A sergeant tried working with the pursuing officers to try to cut Aponteโs run short and ended up doing so, but not until Aponte forced โmultipleโ vehicles off of the roadway.
The chase eventually lead Aponte down Forrest Street, the dead end street off of Bath Road. When faced with no other options, Aponte tried to run but was quickly subdued, police said.
While running Aponteโs identification, it became clear that Aponte had four active warrants, according to the probable cause affidavit.
