
Fallen police officers from the Levittown area and around the nation will be remembered this week.
A 9 a.m. ceremony will be held Monday morning at the Bristol Township Municipal Complex to pay tribute to Detective Sgt. George Stuckey, who was gunned down on Bath Road following a bank robbery in 1972. Bath Road between Route 13 and Veterans Highway (Route 413) was officially renamed for Stuckey last year.

At noon, a ceremony will be held outside the Middletown Municipal Complex on Municipal Way to remember Detective Christopher Jones, who lost his life after being struck by an intoxicated driver along Route 1 during a 2009 traffic stop.
A county-wide Blue Mass will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Newtown at 7 p.m. Click here for more on the ceremony.
In addition to the local events, local departments have sent officers to take part in National Police Week events in Washington D.C.

Bucks County has lost 12 officers in the line of duty, the most recent being Jones. Between 1791 and 2015, 20,662 officers across the nation have died in the line of duty, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
In 2015, 124 officers around the nation were killed while on duty.
