Penn Valley Elementary School’s three kindergarten classes took a tour of Snipes Farm and visited “Cluckingham Palace” on Wednesday.

The students’ tour of Cluckingham Palace, which houses 130 egg-laying chickens, also included visits to several other animals including turkeys, goats and rabbits.

Earlier this year, Melanie Douty-Snipes from the farm left several chicken eggs for the students to watch over. The eggs have hatched and the young chickens have been returned to the farm.

In addition to the visit, the students also enjoyed the farm’s playground and feasted on a picnic-style lunch.
