This year, about 40 roads in Middletown will be repaved as part of a bid package recently approved by the board of supervisors.
The board unanimously voted to approve a $1,131,047 million contract to repave the 43 roads to James D. Morrissey Inc. of Philadelphia. The contractor, which has experience in repaving projects, came in lower than other bidders, township Building and Zoning Department Director Patrick Duffy said.

The project will be paid largely by $750,000 from the liquid fuels funds, $520,000 from the public works funds and $330,000 from a 2014 bond issue. Smaller amounts will come from other funds.
Duffy said repaving work could begin before the end of May.
Middletown is working with Langhorne Borough to repave Green Street and Hill and Station avenues. The cost of the work will be reimbursed to Middletown by the borough.
