
UPDATE: More Information On The Crash & The Victim’s Name
A young woman was identified the victim of Monday’s crash that ended with a tractor-trailer on top of her car.
The 18-year-old New Jersey woman was identified as the driver of the red car that became lodged under the tractor-trailer on the eastbound Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bensalem shortly before 3 p.m. Monday. The crash happened before the Route 1 interchange.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, an official said.
6abc.com reported the truck was carrying 20,000 pounds of soap.
It took firefighters from several departments, including, Penndel nearly an hour to remove the trailer of the truck off the woman’s mangled car. Once the trailer was removed, Pennsylvania State Police moved in with a tarp to cover the woman’s body.

Firefighters used jacks and hydraulics to lift the trailer until two large wreckers from Rob’s Towing in Bristol Township could aid their efforts.
Troopers closed the eastbound lanes of the Turnpike until early Tuesday morning as they investigated and cleaned up the wreck.
