A traffic stop from February has resulted in a number of drug-related charges being filed against a Philadelphia man.
Jeffrey Diiorio, 52, was pulled over in February by Falls Township authorities after police observed him travel at a high rate of speed in residential areas and turn without using a signal, according to a probable cause affidavit said.

The traffic stop occurred in the area of Pinewood Drive in Levittown. Police uncovered that Diiorio had a warrant for him in Bucks County, according to court papers.
Police noticed an orange pill bottle in his shirt pocket, and upon closer examination, believed it to contain Xanax, police paperwork said.
While the officer was back in his vehicle and running Diiorio’s information, he noticed Diiorio place items behind the passenger’s front seat. The officer told Diiorio of his outstanding warrant and asked him to exit his vehicle. According to the probable cause affidavit, the officer noticed money between the center console and the passenger seat, as well as baggies containing an unknown substance were observed on the floor of the vehicle.

Seeing the clearly visible bags as enough evidence for probable cause, the officer searched the interior of the vehicle. Inside the car, the officer found two clear bags containing suspected methamphetamine, a glass smoking device, a digital scale, used baggies, new baggies and a plastic container with a higher amount of suspected methamphetamine.
The arrest took so long to come to fruition due to the lengthy lab process that tested the apparent methamphetamine. According to police, the substance did turn out to be 33 grams of methamphetamine.

Diiorio is being charged with felonies and misdemeanors related to drug manufacture, possession and use of paraphernalia. He was also charged with a number of driving-related summary charges.
Diiorio is being held in prison on 10 percent of $75,000.
