
Firefighters were working as of 4 p.m. to get to at least one person reportedly trapped under a tractor-trailer on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bensalem.

The eastbound lanes of the Turnpike were closed at the Willow Grove interchange. Traffic on the westbound lanes remained open as of 4 p.m. but vehicles were slow going.
A source told LevittownNow.com that one person at the scene was pronounced deceased.
The crash in the eastbound lane before the Route 1 off-ramp happened shortly before 3 p.m. Firefighters from Bensalem, Penndel and Upper Southampton all responded to the scene along with local medics and Pennsylvania State Police.

Images from the scene appeared to show a red car crushed under the trailer.
Trucks from Rob’s Towing in Bristol Township were on the scene attempting to help firefighters remove the overturned tractor-trailer from on top of the vehicle.
