Cops: DNA From Semen Used To Solve Sexual Assault Of Elderly Woman

mtpdcar middletown policeA 19-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 72-year-old woman inside her Middletown home.

The woman told police last October that she was confronted the hallway of her home in the 700 block of Parkvale Avenue in the Langhorne section of the township when she was confronted by an unknown man with a knife. The man – later identified as Patrick Joseph Dilks of Middletown – told the woman he would not hurt her if she did what he asked, the woman told investigators.

“I’m not going to rape you if you do what I say. Take your clothes off,” Dilks reportedly told the elderly woman.

Once the woman took her clothes off, Dilks allegedly touched her breast and back. He then progressed to oral sex and threatened to rape the woman, police said.

Dilks ejaculated on the woman’s stomach and asked for money and painkillers, eventually stealing her cash, court papers state.

Detective David Strother collected semen evidence from the woman at an area hospital and submitted samples the state police lab.

In early April, lab results came back and Dilks was linked to the crime via the semen samples, police said.
