
The Mercer County, New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office released more information on the homicide suspect arrested in Bristol Township late Monday afternoon.
Virgil R. Howard, 26, of Trenton, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service and Bucks County authorities around 4:20 p.m. at the Americas Best Value Inn at the corner of Green Lane and Route 13.

Howard was sent to Bucks County prison on $1 million bail on a fugitive of justice charge. In New Jersey, he was wanted on charges of murder, robbery, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and person not to possess a firearm.
A statement from Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri and Trenton Police Department Director Ernest Parrey Jr. said Howard is accused of shooting 52-year-old Elliot Simon to death in Trenton on April 8. Simon suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
The shooting was discovered after a surveillance system captured gunshot sounds coming from the area of the incident, police said.
