Area senior citizens turned out last Friday for the fourth annual Senior Citizen Prom at Neshaminy High School in Middletown.

The senior citizen prom had almost all the festivities associated with the prom, including a prom king and queen.
Mary Valeri and Harold Ruent, a newly engaged couple, were crowned the Queen and King of the Prom. The two met three years ago at the senior center in Fallsington and their love affair included dancing and an upcoming cruise to Bermuda.
Carly Gallagher, vice president of the student council, said 150 seniors showed up to the Senior Citizens Ball.

“I think it’s very nice, a lot of the senior citizens don’t always have opportunities like this,” Gallagher said.
A large portion of the food and beverages were donated by local businesses and Neshaminy High School families.
