A 35-year-old Trenton man who police say caused a crash that killed two people in Falls Township last weekend has died.
Falls police confirmed to LevittownNow.com that Alexander Skroumbelos died Friday around 4 p.m. at St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown. Skroumbelos suffered serious injuries and had to be cut free by firefighters after last Sunday morning’s crash on Route 1 between Route 13 and Oxford Valley Road.

David Sochalski, 30, and Carmen Cedeno, 42, both of Bensalem, were killed after Skroumbelos was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Route 1 around 2 a.m. The head-on crash threw one of the cars into the northbound lanes of Route 1 where it was struck by two people from Bristol, both suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A backseat passenger in Sochasliski’s car suffered serious injuries but survived.
Police said they suspect Skroumbelos was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
Sochalski and Cedeno were engaged to be married. They had a son – Garrison, 2 – together, and Cedeno has an older son, Carlos, who is stationed overseas in the armed forces.

According to obituaries, Sochalski graduated from Bucks County Technical High School in Bristol Township and worked in the facilities department at Rider University in New Jersey. Cedeno came to the Philadelphia area from Puerto Rico when she was 14 and worked for years as a chef at Newtown Friends Village in Middletown.
Lt. Hank Ward said the accident remains under investigation.

A funeral for Sochalski and Cedeno will be held Saturday starting 1 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Internment for the couple will be held privately.
