An alert Levittown resident may have stopped numerous people’s vehicles from being broken into on Friday morning.
According to Bristol Township police, they received a call shortly before 4:30 a.m. indicating that a white male, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants was prowling around a resident’s property and looking into the vehicles parked in their driveway before entering a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta. The resident went outside and interrupted the man just as he was inside the vehicle before the man then fled on foot.

Police noted in a probable cause affidavit that they apprehended the man later on Plumbridge Drive.
Nathan Oppmann, 22, of Croydon, was arrested and charged with theft from a motor vehicle, loitering and disorderly conduct. Police noted that Oppmann has been convicted three separate times for theft from a vehicle in the last five years.
Oppmann remains in the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of 25,000 bail. He awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 5.
