Ivan Lebeaux was traveling on his motorcycle from his old home in Bristol Township to his new residence in Yardley when he was killed on April 29, 2015.

According to court papers filed this week by Falls Township police, Lebeaux flew 32 feet away from his motorcycle when a Toyota Camry driven by Maria Garcia-Quinones, 27, who formerly lived in Falls and most recently resided in Bensalem, turned in front on him and intersected with his motorcycle around 8:10 p.m. Authorities alleged that Garcia-Quinones’ “reckless” turn and failure to yield caused the head-on crash at the intersection of West Trenton Avenue and Pine Grove Road.

An officer wrote in court papers that Lebeaux suffered serious head injuries and lacerations following the crash. A coroner’s report later stated Lebeaux died from a skull fracture received when he struck the ground.

Officer Stephanie Metterle noted in court papers that she was informed after tending to Lebeaux that Garcia-Quinones was walking away from the crash scene but turned back after being asked to do so by police.

Garcia-Quinones had two children – ages 5 and 6 – in her Toyota at the time of the crash. The two children and Garcia-Quinones were uninjured, police said

Garcia-Quinones initially told investigators that Lebeaux was traveling fast on West Trenton Avenue to beat the light, but she later changed her story to state she didn’t see the motorcycle at all, police said.

In court papers, police wrote they have eyewitness accounts and physical evidence to prove Garcia-Quinones caused the crash.

Garcia-Quinones was arraigned Monday morning on charges of homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of children, reckless endangerment and a series of summary traffic violations. She was released on $25,000 unsecured bail by District Judge Michael J. Burns.
