
An overloaded extension cord is likely to blame for starting a fire in Bristol Borough Monday afternoon.
The fire started in the third-floor bedroom of a home in the 300 block of Jackson Street and remained confined to that room, borough Fire Chief Herb Slack said.

Crews were called to the blaze at 2:45 p.m. Firefighters from the America Hose, Hook & Ladder Company, Bristol Consolidated Fire Company, Bristol Fire Company No. 1,Croydon Fire Company, Edgely Fire Company, Fairless Hills Fire Company, Goodwill Hose Company, Newportville Fire Company and Third District Fire Company responded.
Slack said the overloaded extension cord ignited near combustibles, which likely led to the fire.
No injuries were reported.
