Neshaminy School District’s Maple Point Middle School Student Council will be sponsoring a ‘Coaches vs. Cancer’ event on Friday night.
The third annual event on Friday, March 4 at 5:30 p.m. will feature a middle school boys basketball doubleheader between the district’s Maple Point Middle School and Carl Sandburg Middle School. Officials noted that in-game contests and a raffle auction will be held, all proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society. Admission for the event, which includes a raffle ticket to win a ‘red’ level raffle prize, is $5. Tickets will be on sale at the door to the event at 2250 Langhorne Yardley Road in Langhorne.

Officials from the district also stated that an enticing ‘concert raffle’ will take place Friday night during the basketball games. Tickets for that raffle, which cost $10, will allow the winner to pick the concert they want a pair of tickets to. Choices include: Pearl Jam, Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Kenny Chesney, Billy Joel, or Coldplay.
‘Red’ raffle prizes include a Hershey Park gift package, two tickets to the Philadelphia 76ers game aganist the Indiana Pacers, a Sesame Place gift package, two diamond club tickets to a Philadelphia Phillies game, or a Philadelphia 76ers jersey autographed by Jahlil Okafor
A separate ‘blue’ raffle, where tickets are 3 for $5 or 15 for $20, includes prizes like a Borough Pub gift card, an iTunes music gift package, a Lace’d unisex hair salon gift package, four tickets to the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, one free margarita machine rental from Margarita Man, a Crossfit SAM gift package, a night out in Philly gift basket, a PA State Capitol Tour and lunch with State Representative Frank Farry, a scholarship to the 2016 Neshaminy basketball camp, cheerleading camp or football camp, four Trenton Thunder tickets, and one free month of unlimited small group exercise classes at Yardley Fitness.

While winners of the raffle prizes do not need to be present, winners will be read during halftime for the 8th grade boys basketball game.
