Two sisters testified last week that they were sexually assaulted by the man tasked to take care of them.

The sisters, former residents of Falls Township, testified at the preliminary hearing for 54-year-old Yardley resident Harry Lawrence, who is facing multiple charges including indecent assault of a person under 13 and corruption of minors.

The charges stem from the early part of the 2000s when police allege he sexually assaulted the sisters in the basement of his ex-wife’s now-closed Vernon Road home day care. The girls were elementary school-aged at the time.

The first sister to testify, who is now 22 years old, took to the stand and said Lawrence watched her and her sister. On the days he watched the girls, he alleged shepherded the girls directly into the basement of the day care. In the basement, they would play video games with Lawrence and his elementary school-aged son.

During the after school sessions, Lawrence sexually assaulted the sisters individually while the other played video games with Lawrence’s son, according to testimony.

“I was touched inappropriately by Harry Lawrence,” the first sister testified. “I could feel [Lawrence’s] eyes raking over me.”

The younger sister, who is now 20 years old, relayed a story similar to her sister’s.

The two both testified Lawrence touched their vagina.

The girls said they told very few people about the sexual assaults over the years.

The second sister said she came forward after her sibling talked with a detective.

After the testimony last week, District Judge Jan Vislosky moved to forward all the charges against Lawrence to trial.

Public defender Deborah Weinman did not argue against the charges.

In January, Lawrence pleaded guilty to stealing more than $55,000 in Social Security benefits meant for his own daughter.

Lawrence, who walks with a cane, remains in the Bucks County prison unable to post bail.
