Middletown At The Mall Program Being Retooled

Township officials are working to revamp the Middletown At The Mall program that began last year.

At last week’s Middletown Board of Supervisors meeting, Township Manager Stephanie Teoli Kuhls said the events at the Oxford Valley Mall will be retooled to feature three larger events, likely on the weekend instead of weekdays.

The first Middletown At The Mall event of 2016 will be held Saturday, April 2. The event will feature township officials inside the mall talking about various programs while outside a “touch-a-­truck” event will be held. The April event will coincide with Local Government Month, Teoli Kuhls said.

Another event will be planned for June and would focus on the various township-offered summer programs. A third event is being planned for October and would coincide with fire prevention season.

Teoli Kuhls said the Middletown At The Mall was successful when it was held during weekday lunch hours last year but would likely do better on weekends.

The program started in January 2015 and allowed residents to come out to meet township department officials and even file paperwork.
