UPDATE: Man Shot In Bristol Pronounced Dead

The man shot Tuesday evening in Bristol Borough died from his injuries Wednesday afternoon, Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler confirmed to LevittownNow.com.

In a brief phone interview, the district attorney confirmed the case is being investigated as a homicide. He added the victim’s gunshot injuries were determined to be “non-survivable” upon arrival at the hospital.

More information is expected later Wednesday.

On Wednesday afternoon, investigators were continuing to work leads and probe a Bristol Borough shooting that left a man clinging to life.

The Bristol man shot on Bath Street near the corner of Buckley Street was not identified by police, but LevittownNow.com has confirmed his identity and will not be releasing it until it is confirmed his next of kin are aware.

Chief Arnold Porter said police are working leads and tracking down information on the shooting that closed down usually-busy Bath Street for much of Tuesday evening. No suspects were charged as of Wednesday at noon.

Multiple shots were fired around 7:55 p.m. and the victim was struck, police said. It was not clear how many times the man was struck by gunfire or if he was targeted. Porter said he could not say whether the shooters were on foot or driving by when the shots rang out.

The man was rushed from the scene to St. Mary Medical Center. Porter said the man was in “grave condition” as of 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators appeared Tuesday night to focus their efforts on a house with a white Nissan in the driveway at the corner of Bath and Mifflin streets. The white Nissan appeared to have a bullet hole in the driver-side fender. At least eight evidence markers were placed around the crime scene. Patrol officers from Bristol Township and Tullytown walked the streets surrounding the neighborhood on foot.

Police interviewed several people late Tuesday night, an official said.

Neighbors said the block is know for drug activity. However, they would not say if the victim was involved in the local drug scene but they did confirm he lived in the neighborhood.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office is involved in the investigation.
