A not-for-profit venture of the Habitat for Humanity program of Bucks County will soon be expanding to the Langhorne Square Shopping Center.
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is set to open in the coming months East Lincoln Highway in Middletown.ย The donated items, which are processed by an army of volunteersย and a handful of mission driven staff, are then sold to the public to help fund a variety of Habitat’s housing projects.

The store will be filled with overstocked, discontinued, new and usedย building materials and household goods that have beenย donated by manufacturers, retail stores, contractors and individuals.
“We are so excited to be reaching out to the Levittown community and surrounding area with opportunities to volunteer, donate and shop in our ReStore. Itโs a super cool place!,” said Volunteer & Outreach Director Colleen Brink. “We engage youth, faith families, neighbors, individuals with special needs and even offer court ordered community service assignments (details on our website volunteer tab). We believe itโs so important to reuse, recycle, reduce and repurpose items. Weโve been blessed with an amazingly talented โup-cyclerโ who turns would-be trash literally into treasures!”
The Chalfont location, the current nearest location to our area, with the help of its 250,000 customers, 35,000 donors, and tens of thousands of volunteer hours, has net a profit in each of its seven years in business. Those profits have helped to build over 100 affordable homes for deserving families, according to Habitat for Humanity officials.

โThe opening of the new Langhorne ReStore is a vital step in our mission to build communities and empower families in Bucks Countyโ said Florence Kawoczka, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County. โWe are excited to bring the ReStore Program into the Langhorne community.โ
The new Langhorne store will join more than 860 Habitat Restores located across the country, Canada, and throughout the world.ย Though each Habitat for Humanity ReStore is unique, most accept donations ofย household goods, furniture, appliances and building materials. In 2015, over 3 million ReStore donations divertedย more than 124,000 tons of material from landfills nationwide.
