A group of fourth graders and their families went down to Philadelphia on Saturday to pay it forward.
Over about two months, the students, starting with Lauren Miller’s fourth grade class at Oliver Heckman Elementary School in Langhorne, raised $1,362 for Rosa’s Fresh Pizza’s Pay It Forward Program, which feeds those in need in Philadelphia.

Heckman fourth graders have held several fundraiser, including Teddy Bear Day, to raise money over the past few months.
The students took a bus down to the Center City eatery to present their donation.
For each dollar donated, a sticky note goes on the wall of the pizza shop. When a homeless personย in need comes in, they take a sticky note and use that to pay for the pizza.

“You have worked towards this for about two months, and in that time, now more than 1,300 will be able to have a meal, and that is the best thing ever,” said Miller to the kids responsible for raising the money before they departed for Rosa’s.
“They did this themselves, which is just fabulous,” said Andrea Piccihetti, the librarian at Oliver Heckman Elementary School.
