The roughly 500 participants that jumped into the frigid river for the Polar Bear Plunge helped raise $120,000 that will go toward Special Olympics.

After participantsย went into the water, plungers were able to walk over and enjoy warm beverages, fresh clothes and tents warmed by portable heaters.

Among those present for the plunge were members of 93.3 WMMR’s Preston and Steve Morning Show, as well as a number of sponsors.

While many wore bathing suits, members of the Trevose Fire Company made their plunge while wearing wedding dresses.

A number of Dunkin Donuts representatives were present to bring hot beverages and doughnuts to the frigid participants. In addition to the in-kind donations, Dunkin Donuts donated $30,000 to the Special Olympics.
