Middletown’s Chief of Police says his department investigated a report of a possible attempted kidnapping in Levittown over the weekend.
The incident, which was widely shared on Facebook, involved children allegedly being approached by a dark-colored vehicle. The two occupants of the vehicle spoke in an accent and asked the kids if they wanted to come with them to have a snowball fight with their child.

“I believe this couple was trying to take one of the kids. I believe they were caught off guard by my neighbor/ friend sticking her head out the door when she heard my daughter and her friend screaming,” the Facebook post read.
An investigation conducted by multiple officers and detectives has turned up few leads and little information on the claim, Chief Joseph Bartorilla told LevittownNow.com. He stated that his officers spoke with two families, multiple children and neighbors as part of their probe.
Detectives also checked for similar incidents with nearly all police departments in Lower Bucks County and turned up nothing. He said the search included recent and older police reports.

“I would tell parents to keep being parents and keep an eye on their kids,” Bartorilla said. He said his department took the report seriously and launched their investigation shortly after hearing the report.
Extra patrols in Levittown area have been added as a precaution.
