At the same time Falls Township police were investigating a murder, an unrelated suspect robbed a gas station only a mile down New Falls Road.
Police said the masked suspect walked into the Sunoco at the corner of New Falls Road and Penn Valley Road around 4:30 a.m. Thursday. The suspect displayed a black handgun, possibly a revolver, during the robbery, Lt. Hank Ward said.

It was not released whether the suspect made off with any cash or items from the gas station.
The suspect fled in a red, full-sized pickup truck that was either a Ford or Dodge, police said. The truck reportedly had a loud exhaust.
The suspect was described as a mustachioed white male in his 40s. He was wearing a black hooded windbreaker, a black mask covering his nose and mouth, black gloves, blue jeans, white socks and gray sneakers.
