Bristol Township officials met Monday evening to reorganize and assemble township personnel into various roles.
The evening reorganization meeting began as newly elected council members Patrick Antonello and Howard Allen were sworn in by District Judge Robert Wagner Jr. Both Antonello and Allen won their spots in the November election.

Returning and re-elected council members Joseph Glasson and Amber Longhitano were also sworn in for another four year term by the local judge.
In regards to township leadership, Glasson motioned for Council Member Craig Bowen to reprise his role as president while Antonello motioned for Councilwoman Longhitano to continue her role as vice president, keeping the leadership roles the same as before the 2016 calendar year.
Antonello, who briefly debated the township’s use of a general township secretary as well as an assistant secretary, said the township largely did a good job in providing him and Allen with necessary packets of information prior to their swearing in. Antonello and Allen did note, however, that no information or background was provided in regards to the township engineer or sewer engineer. While Antonello, Allen and Longhitano voted to table the vote on those issues until information would be provided, the council majority did not agree and chose to continue working with past providers.

Township Solicitor Randy Flager also succeeded in his re-appointment to the board’s counsel, although Longhitano had abstained from voting for him. While Longhitano did not provide a reason for her lack of vote, the two have long disagreed on how to handle the growing recovery house issue arguably plaguing the township.
Bristol Township officials will continue to meet the first and third Thursday of every month, with the exception of the months of January, July, and August, where they will only meet on the third Thursday.
