Bristol Township police wrote in court papers that four to five shots were fired toward a backyard during a burglary that happened earlier this year.
Kayla Dubois, 21, of Bristol Township, was charged last week with firing the shots from a gun on October 15 after the man she was with was restrained by a homeowner after burglarizing a shed in the 2900 block of Bancroft Avenue, according to court papers.

A responding officer found 25-year-old Terence Dais Jr., of Bensalem, being held down by the Bancroft Avenue homeowner in the resident’s fenced yard. The officer was also alerted shots were fired after the shed burglary, police said.
“The victim said while he was detaining Dais, he heard 4-5 gunshots being fired from the other side of his fence,” Detective Doug Slemmer wrote in court papers. He also noted the homeowner’s wife also reported hearing and seeing a gun being fired in the direction of her and her husband.
After police arrived and took custody of Dais, the homeowner went to look for the other suspect and heard a car engine start down the street. Moments later, the vehicle swerved towards him and struck him with the side mirror, police said.

Investigators said they recovered three shell casing and one spent round. Slemmer wrote Dais was found with a hollow point bullet in his possession.
Officer Robert Schwarzwalder reportedly found Dais wearing gloves and a white shirt that was used to conceal his face during the alleged 5 a.m. burglary.

The homeowner suffered various injuries related to detaining Dais and being struck by the mirror.
Following Dais being charged with the burglary, he was jailed at the Bucks County Correction Facility in Doylestown. During recorded phone calls between Dais and Dubois, the two talked about the Bancroft Avenue incident multiple times and even mentioned the shooting, police said.
Slemmer wrote Dubois said in one phone call that she was trying to sell the gun used in the shooting.

Also picked up during the prison phone calls, the fact that a motorcycle stolen from 2900 block of Bancroft Avenue was in a storage locker in Bristol Township. A search was executed at the locker and the stolen motorcycle was found, according to court papers.
Dubois was allegedly trying to sell the motorcycle to get money to bail Dais out.

After she was taken into custody last week, Dubois admitted to having two guns the morning of the burglary and firing at the homeowner and his wife, police said, adding the 21 year old admitted to trying to sell or get rid of the guns.
Dais was charged in October with robbery, burglary, aggravated assault and related offenses. He has remained in prison on 10 percent of $250,000 bail.

Dubios was arraigned last week on charges of aggravated assault, burglary, robbery, attempted burglary, conspiracy and simple assault. In the motorcycle case, she was charged with theft. The 21 year old is being held in county jail on 10 percent of $500,000 bail for the shooting and 10 percent of $100,000 bail in the theft case.
