Burke was operating his motorcycle with a female passenger when the crash happened on June 25 on New Falls Road between Queen Lily Road and Quincy Drive.

The crash occurred when the motorcycle was moving too quickly and the brake was applied too harshly, according to police documents filed by Officer Micheal Stum. The motorcycle reportedly went out of control and slammed to the ground, skipping for nearly 200 feet before coming to a stop.

Police said Burke did not have a motorcycle endorsement for his driver’s license, which he did not have at the time of the crash.
