A drug sale gone bad led to the arrest of a Levittown man, according to Falls Township police.
Officers rushed to the scene of a reported robbery at the Pennsbury Woods Apartments in the 9000 block of New Falls Road Sunday around 2 a.m. A 19-year-old woman told an officer a man she knew – August Sylvia, 20, of Levittown – robbed her at gunpoint when they met to exchange an ounce of marijuana for $300, according to court records.

The robbery call prompted officers to begin searching the apartment complex, the surrounding area and residence where Sylvia was known to have lived.
Through contacts with Sylvia’s family, they were able to meet with him at the Falls police station on Lincoln Highway.
During a meeting with Detective Catherine Coffman, Sylvia admitted to brandishing a BB gun and demanding the marijuana, which was valued at $300, police said. The 20 year old told Coffman he did not think the woman would call police to report the robbery because it was over marijuana.

The BB gun used the robbery was found a Sylvia’s friend’s house, according to authorities.
Sylvia and the woman he allegedly robbed went to high school together, police said.

Sylvia was charged Sunday with robbery, receiving stolen property, terroristic threats and theft. He was arraigned and sent to prison on 10 percent of $100,000 bail.
