A member of the British royal family made an unannounced stop in Bristol Borough recently.
Several people confirm to LevittownNow.com the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson was in the borough in mid-October as part of a business meeting. The news was first broken by Bucks County Courier Times correspondent Elizabeth Fisher, who is a Bristol resident.

Staying at a hotel in Bensalem, Ferguson, known by many as “Fergie,” was in Bristol visiting Lenox, the glassware company, according to Robert Strasser of the King George II Inn. The iconic Bristol eatery was where Ferguson stopped during her visit stateside.
During her stop at the King George II Inn, the duchess’ party was supplied with a private room, according to Strasser.
“When anyone of her stature is coming, it puts us all on alert, but she was the nicest woman, and she really made everyone comfortable,” Strasser explained. “She made it a point to introduce herself to all of my employees.”

Ferguson didn’t stop at introducing herself to the staff at the King George, either. She also made the rounds saying hello to customers, even taking a picture with one couple who was celebrating their 15th anniversary.
While she was at the restaurant, Ferguson had steak frites, a bistro style fillet served with parmesan truffle fries.

Ferguson gained international attention after she married f Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, who is the second son of Queen Elizabeth II, in the mid-1980s. The famous couple divorced in the 1990s, but Ferguson has remained a frequent face in the media.
According to Strasser, Ferguson is expected to make a return trip to Bristol Borough in the future.
