The annual Olde Langhorne Harvest Day was celebrated on Saturday.
Visitors and residents on Langhorne Borough filled the heart of town during the annual event.

“The turnout is very good, of course, we have the weather to thank for that,” said Dr. Suzanne Goss, a member of the Langhorne Borough Business Association and a member of the borough council.
The event was the biggest in the 10 years that the day has been established, accommodating 90 vendors in total, according to LBBA President Ellyn Schoen.
Members of the LBBA, totaling about 50, meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month in order to plan events like Olde Langhorne Harvest Day, which is historically held on the last Saturday on October.

“From tomorrow until this time next year, we will be planning for next year,” Schoen joked.
Although it takes a long time to plan and execute, Langhorne Day is very important for those in the borough, for their sense of community as well as their sense of self identity. “We have a strong sense of ourselves as a town, even though we are in a suburban sprawl. We want people to know that we are a small town,” Goss said.

Members of the LBBA aren’t the only ones responsible for making Olde Langhorne Harvest Day a time to remember every year. Vendors who come and populate the streets make up another aspect of fun for the day. Amy and Ed Johnson, owners of the Langhorn Candle Company, have been coming to Langhorne Day as long as it has been around. “The crowd gets bigger and better every year,” Amy explained.
Although the Langhorne Candle Company has a presence at other local community days, including Yardley and Newtown, the Johnsons like Langhorne’s harvest festival the best. “It’s important because we live here and like the people here,” Amy explained.
“I love that it brings all the people in the town together for a day of fun,” Goss said. “The business association made the decision to do this for the community. It’s our chance to give back.”
