The former Bottom Dollar Food in Bristol Township’s Levittown section is expected to reopen as an Aldi by the end of 2015.
The store, which underwent some renovations and a small expansion in recent months, will return to selling “fresh, affordable groceries to this neighborhood,” Bob Grammer, Aldi Center Valley division vice president, said.

The renovations and small expansion will allow the former Bottom Dollar Food transition to Aldi’s layout that is known for simplicity.
“Each Aldi store offers customers a simple approach to grocery shopping through consistent, easy-to-navigate store layouts,” Grammer said.
He also said the closed Bottom Dollar Food store in Penndel is still being evaluated for sublease or assignment by Aldi, which operated a store a few miles away in Middletown’s Levittown section.

Roughly 30 of the 66 now-closed Bottom Dollar Food stores purchased by Aldi from Delhaize for $15 million earlier this year are planned to reopen under the Aldi name.
The company is currently in the middle of an “accelerated growth plan” to open more than 650 new stores by 2018. By that year, Aldi, already a popular European brand, hopes to have 2,000 locations operating inside the United States. The plan comes with a multi-billion dollar investment.
