The former director of Lower Makefield’s public works department has been fired after he allegedly ordered township crews to pave a portion of the parking lot at the Lower Bucks Family YMCA in Bristol Township.

Lower Makefield Chief of Police Ken Coluzzi said after reviewing the results of his department’s investigation with the Bucks County District Attorney, former Public Works Director Kevin Kall will not face criminal charges for allegedly having crews repair a portion of the parking lot that sits off South Oxford Valley Road in the Fairless Hills section of Bristol Township.

A police investigation found Lower Makefield’s township manager never authorized the public work’s department to repair the parking lot that sits several miles outside of the township.

Kall will be required to reimburse $2,800, which is the estimated cost of the work at the YMCA parking lot, Lower Makefield solicitor Jeffrey Garton said.

One member of the Board of Supervisors on Wednesday evening questioned why Kall would allegedly do something “so stupid.” He also noted the former public works director’s wife works at the YMCA.

The same supervisor also questioned the integrity of the investigation.

After some back and forth at Wednesday’s meeting when the results of the investigation were revealed, there was an argument between a supervisor and a member of the public. Click here to watch the meeting.

Kall had submitted his resignation to township administration and only had a few days left on the job, according to information provided by officials during the meeting.
