Pieces of a now-closed Bristol Township church will be part of Pope Francis’ mass along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia.
The wooden crucifix that will hang behind the pontiff during his mass on Sunday is constructed fromย imitation gold leafing and a corpus that used to be part of the closedย Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Emilie Road.

Ohio.com reportsย award-winning liturgical designerย Lawrence Hoy of Connecticut is building the 10-foot-tall and 8-foot-wide crucifix.
The imitation gold from the Bristol Township church was used because of Pope Francisโ vision of austerity,ย Hoy toldย News12.com.
