
There were some tense moments in Bristol Township’s Croydon section Saturday as officers reportedly arrested a felon who had fired a shotgun at his neighbors’ property.
Officers were dispatched to Garfield Street and Franklin Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Saturday for reports of shots fired. Some residents heard shots and other said they saw a man with a gun.

Upon arrival, an officer heard yelling coming from the yard of a house in the 2000 block of Garfield Street. The officer found two men yelling, police said.
“Go ahead and call the f**king police, p****y,” Michael Jay Zehnder, 27, of Croydon, reportedly yelled.
At gunpoint, an officer yelled that Zehnder should put his hands up. However, Zehnder did not comply and walked towards his nearby shotgun and where officers were located.

Zehnder did not comply with additional police commands and an officer was forced to deploy his Taser after a struggle with the 27 year old, court papers stated.
Two sheds in the rear of a home on Lincoln Street appeared to be struck by shotgun projectiles, police said. They added that the homeowner was in the backyard at the time of the alleged shotgun fire.

Damage consistent from blasts from a shotgun were found in the backyard of the home where Zehnder was arrested along with four fired shells, court papers stated.
Zehnder was previously convicted in a felony drug case and is barred from owning or possessing firearms.
Zehnder was charged Saturday night with possession of a prohibited firearm, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. He was arraigned and sent to prison on 10 percent of $250,000.

The 27 year old is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on September 30.
