Pennsylvania State Police said they stopped a truck transporting poultry and dairy products that were above safe temperatures.
State police wrote in a Facebook post that troopers assigned to a truck inspection unit stopped a commercial vehicle carrying poultry and dairy products to a business in Allentown on Wednesday. Upon inspection, it was discovered the food in the back of the refrigerated truck was above the temperature required by law. A photo shared by state police showed a laser thermometer showing a temperature of 60 degrees.

“Five cases of chicken and one case of butter were condemned and destroyed by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture before the unsafe food could enter Pennsylvania’s food supply,” state police wrote.
Before being checked, the truck made food and milk deliveries at five different locations in Bucks County. Authorities said they will follow up with the Bucks County businesses to make sure the food delivered is safe to consume. The locations where the truck delivered food in Bucks County was not released by troopers.
Troopers discovered the refrigeration unit on the truck was not working properly, leading to the high temperatures.
