The mother of a woman who died in Bucks County in 2013 is suing Bucks County in federal court.

Philly.com reported this week that the mother of Vallia Valene Karaharisis is “accusing county officials of failing to provide adequate detoxification treatment to her daughter before she died.”

According to court records obtained by LevittownNow.com, Karaharisis was a resident of Middletown’s Levittown section. She was arrested and jailed in September 2013 on an alleged violation of probation and died a few days later.

From Philly.com:

In her filing, Lopez claims that Karaharisis told jail workers about her habit of injecting up to 20 bags of heroin per day. But officials showed “deliberate indifference” to her plight, the suit said, and did not monitor her or provide her adequate detoxification treatment.
