The Neshaminy School Board will vote Tuesday on a deal that will turn control of Mayor’s Park over to Langhorne Borough.
The 25-year deal has already been approved by the borough council and will be voted on by the school board Tuesday, September 29 at 7 p.m. at Maple Point Elementary School. The agreement, if approved, would run from January 1, 2016 until December 31, 2041, allowing the agreement to renew for five years if it is not terminated.

If approved, the agreement would allow Langhorne to qualify for a state grant that could lead to the construction of bathrooms at the park that has its gateway at the corner of Pine Street (Route 413) and Maple Avenue (Route 213), according to a school board resolution.
Both Langhorne and Neshaminy would include the park on their insurance plans, the resolution states.
In 2013, the council voiced concerns the park’s future could be in jeopardy if Oliver Heckman Elementary School is closed and/or sold.
