Fatal Pedestrian Strike Impacts Regional Trains

Service on SEPTA’s Trenton Line was suspended into and out of Lower Bucks County after a pedestrian was fatally struck in Bensalem.

According to an emergency official, the incident happened on the tracks near State Road in Bensalem. The victim was reportedly struck by an Amtrak train around 4 p.m. Thursday.

As of 4:50 p.m., service Amtrak’s busy Northeast Regional line was delayed due to the fatality.

“Train stopped suddenly. Conductor announced–train ‘hit a trespasser,’” Margaret McMenamin stated on Twitter.

Bensalem police and federal investigators were at the scene as of 5 p.m.
