Power Outage Impacts Sesame Place, Surrounding Businesses

A power outage caused by a wire that disconnected knocked out power to Sesame Place and other businesses near the Oxford Valley Mall in Middletown.

PECO spokesperson Liz Williamson said the outage was reported at 11:06 a.m.Tuesday and service was restored at 11:55 a.m.

Williamson said utility crews were immediately dispatched to the Oxford Valley area once the outage was reported.

The amusement park tweeted during the outage that “Sesame Place is experiencing a temporary power outage in sections of the park due to an off-site power outage.”

Several traffic lights at the Route 1 interchange were also knocked out by the outage.
