Two Falls Township parks will soon be a little safer for it’s visitors.

Falls Township Parks & Recreation was recently awarded two AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) as part of a grant through the SAFE KIDS campaign, led by the the St. Mary Medical Center Trauma Department. The grant awards six machines to various parks each year.

The two AEDs will be available for public use in the case of an emergency. The machines, which are portable, deliver commands via audio and visual to help the administrator reestablish an effective rhythm in a patient’s heart.

One AED will be placed at the Falls Township Community Park, and another at the Quaker Penn Park, which are the two most widely used parks within the township.
