A 16-year-old Falls Township boy was charged Wednesday in connection with a June burglary that happened in Levittown.

Police said in a Wednesday night press release that the teen was charged with burglary in juvenile court earlier in the day. He was already charged with an attempted burglary that happened on Tapered Oak Lane in Levittown on Monday, June 22.

According to authorities, the teen removed a window screen from the first floor of a Willow Drive home in Levittown overnight. A laptop was taken from the home in the burglary, which was discovered around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23.

Detective Dennis Oโ€™Connell was able to recover DNA evidence from the Willow Drive home and submitted it for testing.

On Monday, DNA testing was returned to Falls investigators and linked the teen from the June 22 attempted burglary to the June 23 incident, police said.

“The juvenile charged committed a previous burglary but we had nothing to link him to the burglary listed above,” Lt. Hank Ward said. “Without the DNA evidence we would not be able to charge him with the second burglary.”
