New Principal Hired For Harry S. Truman High School

A new face will greet students at Harry S. Truman High School in Bristol Township come the first day of school.

The Bristol Township School Board Monday evening approved the retirement of Principal James Moore, who has worked in the district for 29 years, and approved the appointment of Lyndell Davis to fill the principal position starting this month.

Davis, a Philadelphia resident, has worked as the vice principal at Hopewell Valley Central High School in Hopewell Valley Regional School District in New Jersey. He previously was assistant principal at Upper Moreland High School and  taught social studies at Martin Luther King, Jr. High School in Philadelphia and at Norristown High School.

Davis was named NASSP New Jersey Assistant Principal of the Year and NJSPA Visionary Leader of the Year in 2014.

The new principal attended both Bloomsburg University and Cheyney University, working his way up to a master’s degree.

While Moore is retiring, he is still expected to be a familiar face around the Truman campus.
