The passes can be used for SEPTA’s limited Region Rail service during the weekend of September 26 and September 27. The Pope’s upcoming visit is part of the World Meeting of Families.

“SEPTA officials say demand is lower than expected after registration for a lottery, giving commuters the opportunity to buy Regional Rail passes for the pope’s visit to Philadelphia, opened overnight,” 6abc.com reported.

SEPTA officials have previously said each lottery entrant could request up to 10 passes for each day, each costing $10. The transit agency has 175,000 passes available for each day.

The winners of the lottery will be notified on Thursday and must purchase their passes between August 6 and August 9.
