A high-speed chase that started in Tullytown Tuesday morning ended in New Jersey a short time later.
A Tullytown patrolman who took a report of a hit-and-run crash in the borough a few days back stationed himself along Route 13 the past few mornings to see if he spotted the vehicle that matched the description from the hit-and-run crash.

On Tuesday morning, the officer got lucky and spotted the vehicle, according to Chief of Police Daniel Doyle.
The vehicle – allegedly driven by 35-year-old Josean H. Hernandez of Trenton – pulled over after the officer activated his lights but then sped off, reaching speeds of over 90 MPH. Doyle said.
The car zoomed through Falls Township and Morrisville before entering Route 1 in Trenton. As Hernandez tried to exit onto Perry Street in Trenton, he lost control and crashed the car into an embankment, Doyle said.

An attempt to get away on foot was futile and Hernandez was taken into custody.
Hernandez is being held in New Jersey prison and is expected to be extradited to Pennsylvania where he will face charges of fleeing and eluding a police officer, resisting arrest and several summery traffic offenses.
