The man wanted for the shooting death of a former Falls Township woman and her unborn baby was killed in Philadelphia Wednesday morning.
Devon Guisherd, 28, was shot dead after exchanging gunfire with police in 800 block of Riverside Drive of Northeast Philadelphia. City police said they were serving an arrest warrant for Guisherd around 6:10 a.m. when gunfire rang out according to 6abc.com.

A police SWAT operator was taken to the hospital after being shot in his bullet-proof vest by Guisherd, police said.
A wanted posted distributed to all patrol officers in Philadelphia and obtained by LevittownNow.com last year warned Guisherd was considered “armed and dangerous.”

Guisherd was accused of shooting former Falls Township resident 27-year-old Megan Doto and her unborn child in Philadelphia last September.

Police said Guisherd fired at a white four-door sedan yards from where eight-months pregnant Doto was sitting and watching over a neighbor’s child late. Homicide Captain James Clark said last year that a single bullet traveled from the shooting scene and struck Doto, who died shortly after an emergency C-section was performed to try to save the unborn child.
The mother of two children, with one on the way, moved to the city from Falls’ Morrisville section within the past few years and lived with her boyfriend. Doto graduated from Pennsbury High School in 2006.
