Worker Accidentally Electrocuted By Remote

A worker at a salt facility in Falls Township was electrocuted Monday afternoon.

Police said a 43-year-old worker at International Salt, which is located at the old US Steel facility, was accidentally electrocuted by a remote control with exposed and frayed wires around 3:30 p.m.

The worker was conscious and alert when he was transported by the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad. As a precautionary measure, a medical helicopter air flew the 43 year old to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia for non-life-threatening injuries.

In 2014, a worker was killed when a large pile of salt that collapsed in Falls. The property was being leased by International Salt.
