A man is under arrest after Falls Township police say he assaulted his wife and caused injuries which required her to get 30 stitches.
Robert M. Reichard, 49, of Falls, was charged with simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned early Saturday morning by on-call District Judge Charles W. Baum and sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $5,000 bail.

Reichard’s wife told a security guard at Penn Warner Club around 9 p.m. that she was assaulted. She then drove herself to Aria Health’s Bucks County Campus in Falls for treatment to various injuries, police said.
At the hospital, Reichard’s wife relayed to police that her and her husband were in an argument at his lot at Penn Warner Club. While preparing to leave, Reichard asked for her wallet and she gave it to him after taking the money out, according to court papers.
Reichard allegedly began throwing objects at his wife after she emptied money from her wallet.

A full beer can struck Reichard’s wife and she suffered injuries to her face, police said.
Lt. Hank Ward said an aggregated assault charge will like be added, but officers were not aware of the seriousness of her injuries when Reichard was arraigned.

Reichard is expected to have a preliminary hearing on July 28.
